Chatspin in Brief: Video Chat With Paid Filters
Chatspin alternative launched in 2020 as a feature-rich video chat platform with face filters, gender matching, and location-based connections. It positioned itself as a more polished random chat experience with various filtering options.
However, Chatspin's most appealing features — gender filters, location filters, and advanced face filters — are locked behind premium subscriptions. Free users get a stripped-down experience with limited matching control and intrusive advertising. The video-only format also limits privacy and accessibility.
When Chatspin's Paywall Gets in the Way
Problem #1: Premium-Gated Filters
Chatspin locks gender filtering and location preferences behind paid subscriptions. Genzigs offers both completely free — filtering is a core feature, not a premium upsell.
Problem #2: Camera Requirement
As a video platform, Chatspin requires camera access. This limits privacy, requires good bandwidth, and means you can only chat in camera-appropriate settings. Genzigs is text-first — chat from anywhere.
Problem #3: App Download Pushed
Chatspin strongly encourages app downloads for the best experience. Genzigs works perfectly in any browser — no downloads, no installations, no storage space needed.
Problem #4: Inconsistent Moderation
Despite face filters, Chatspin's moderation can be hit or miss. Users report encountering inappropriate content. Genzigs uses proactive report-based moderation for consistent safety.
Problem #5: No Reconnect Feature
Once a Chatspin conversation ends, that connection is lost forever. Genzigs's reconnect feature lets you save and continue great conversations.
