Where The Story Lives
Masashi Kishimoto's manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014. The anime followed as Naruto (2002) and Naruto: Shippuden (2007–2017). The story continues with Naruto's son in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and the manga now runs as Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Because fans entered at different points, 'which did you watch first?' explains most of their opinions before you even ask for them.
The Filler Question
Both anime series include long stretches of filler that isn't in the manga. Newer viewers often ask what to skip. Veterans tend to have a personal list of the few filler episodes they think are worth keeping. Asking for theirs is a surprisingly good conversation starter.
Debates That Never Get Old
Expect strong opinions on:
- Whether Itachi's story is the best reveal in the series
- Pain's assault on the Leaf versus the final Naruto–Sasuke fight
- Whether Boruto earns its place or should have been left alone
- Which side character deserved more screen time
Original Series, Shippuden And Boruto
Many fans love the original and Shippuden and feel differently about Boruto. Others came in through Boruto. Asking which part someone watched first explains a lot about their opinions.
Arcs And Fights People Still Rewatch
The Chunin Exams, the Pain arc and the final battle come up again and again. Asking which fight someone rewatches tells you what they value: emotion, strategy or spectacle.
