Is Genzigs free to use?
Yes — the core random chat experience is completely free. You can pick a name, choose preferences, get matched, send unlimited messages within a chat, skip to a new partner, and report users without paying anything. Optional Genzigs Premium removes ads and unlocks reconnection, saved chat history, unlimited daily matches, and faster matching.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use Genzigs fully anonymously without creating an account. We only ask for an optional Google sign-in if you want Premium-only features like saved chats and reconnection — and even then, we never request your real name or phone number.
How chat works
How does matching work?
You choose a gender preference and a partner region. Our real-time matching queue then pairs you with another user who is online and looking for a chat at the same time. Most matches happen within a few seconds. If no one matches your exact preferences right away, the queue gradually broadens.
Does Genzigs have video chat?
No. Genzigs is intentionally text-only. This protects user privacy, removes visual harassment risks, and is safer for the 18+ audience we serve. It also means you can chat freely without a camera, microphone, or worrying about your background.
Can I reconnect with someone I chatted with?
Yes — with Genzigs Premium. Reconnection saves a private link to a past chat partner so you can talk again if both of you are online. It's how casual random chats can turn into real friendships.
Privacy & anonymity
Is Genzigs really anonymous?
Yes. We never ask for your real name, phone number, address, or financial information. Your display name and avatar are the only things shown to chat partners. Behind the scenes we collect minimal technical data (hashed IP address, anonymous device identifier) for abuse prevention only. The full breakdown is in our Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Under GDPR, the UK GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent laws you have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. Email privacy@genzigs.com and we'll process it within 30 days.
Safety
How do I stay safe in random chat?
Three rules: never share personal information (real name, address, phone, school, financial details), trust your instincts (if it feels wrong, leave), and use the Report button when you see policy violations. Our Safety Guidelines page covers more.
How are inappropriate users handled?
We combine AI moderation, keyword filtering, rate limiting, and user reports. Confirmed violations result in warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent bans depending on severity. Serious violations (threats, illegal activity, content involving minors) are actioned immediately and escalated to law enforcement where required.
What's the minimum age to use Genzigs?
Strictly 18 and older. Every new user confirms their age before the first chat. Misrepresenting your age is a Terms of Service violation and results in a permanent ban — see our Terms of Service.
Ads & monetization
Does Genzigs show ads?
Non-premium users see ads served by Google AdSense and Adsterra. These ads are what keep Genzigs free for everyone. Premium subscribers see no ads — no ad scripts are even loaded for them. Full details on what these networks collect are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Devices & technical
Does Genzigs work on mobile?
Yes. Genzigs runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet, or desktop. No app download required. The interface is mobile-first, so the experience is great on a phone.
What if matching takes too long?
If the queue runs slow it usually means very specific preferences. Try broadening your region or gender preference. Premium users get priority placement in the queue.
